A reflection on the Feat and an Announcement

There are days when it feels like I’m not doing anything important. But surely, I am doing something on those days, right?

A scene from the movie "That Very Münchhausen" with Yankovsky in the lead role came to mind. He stands by the window, making a daily schedule, and at 9 AM—there's a feat to be accomplished!

Not every day can be a day of heroic achievements. There must also be preparation for them. And if we learn to see even small, seemingly insignificant actions as part of this preparation, the mind calms down, allowing us to enjoy those little tasks.

This morning, I cleaned the floor in my studio, wiped away the turquoise pastel dust from my last painting, and now I need to cut a mat board to transport the artwork safely to the framing studio. All of this will give me the opportunity to hang the next sheet on my wall in the coming days.

I can’t speed up certain processes. I know I am already working at my maximum possible pace, and if I push myself even harder, I lose emotional control. So I try to see small tasks as necessary stepping stones and to appreciate them for bringing me closer to something greater. They also provide a breather, giving me time to live with a new theme in my head—so that by the time I begin working on it, I already feel that creative impatience, that excitement to start.

And now, the long-awaited news about our upcoming trip to the Netherlands in April!
We are going on a painting trip from April 26 to 30 to the city of Haarlem.

The program looks fantastic: the sea, dunes, blooming tulip fields, parks, and bicycles!

More about the previous trip can be found here.

Springtime in the Netherlands is an extremely busy season, so it’s best to plan your trip in advance!
